One day the most peaceful inhabitants from the Earth...

One day the most peaceful inhabitants from the Earth asked one very powerful wizard to stop all wars and bloodshed on the planet.

– It is simple, – he said. — I will destroy all weapons on the Earth, and nobody will be able to fight anymore.

– It would be great! –people exclaimed.

The magic wand’s wave – and this was done.

There was a peace on the planet for three days, while the majority of those who were prone to fight, sought and could not find a weapon. When they understood they’ve lost it forever, they have made spears of young trees and started to fight again.

When the wizard heard this bad news, he said:

– Do not worry. I will destroy all young trees, so that they will not be able to fight.

After two or three days of useless search for young trees, suitable for making spears, rebellious people started to cut giant trees, make batons from them, and the bloodshed has started again. The Wizard destroyed all big trees. Then humans made knives and swords of metal. He destroyed all metal on the planet. People made sling and began to throw stones at each other. It was necessary to destroy the stones, too. And then peacekeepers began to worry: all trees have disappeared; there is no metal and stones. How to live, what to eat now? There will be no vegetation soon, and people will die without even fighting. No, this is a wrong solution of the problem.

The Wizard became confused:

– I do not know how to behave now. I would have destroyed all humanity, but, unfortunately, it is not in my power!

The peacekeepers fell into despair; they did not know what to do. And then one clever kid turned to the Wizard.

– I know what you should do. Let people feel, how others perceive their actions. If one person hurt someone, let him feel the same pain, and if he brings joy to someone, let him feel the same joy. So no one will hurt each other, because he will feel the pain immediately too and would have to stop.

All people were inspired with the greatness of kid’s thought, and the wizard realized his idea. He returned all trees, stones and metals.

Since that day nobody on the planet tried to hurt his neighbour, because he would have to feel the same pain too. People began to help each other, because they liked the sense of joy they felt at this moment. And they began to live in harmony and joy.

A husband and wife have been living together for 30 years...

A husband and wife have been living together for 30 years. On the 30th anniversary of their marriage the wife, as usual, has baked the bun – she baked it every morning, it was a tradition. During the breakfast she cut it across, buttered both sides, and, as usual, gave the top to the husband, but her hand stopped halfway…

She thought: “On the day of our 30th anniversary I want to eat this rosy part of the bun; I was dreaming about this for 30 years. Finally, I was an exemplary wife for 30 years and I raised good sons for him. I put so much efforts and health for the well-being of our family.”

So she made a decision and gave the bottom of the bun to her husband, but her hands trembled – breaking the 30-year-old tradition! Her husband took the bun and said to her:

-What a wonderful gift you gave me today, my dear! 30 years I did not eat my favourite –bottom- part of the bun, because I thought that it rightfully belongs to you.

Two families lived nearby...

Two families lived nearby. One family had constant quarrels and the other one lived quietly and friendly.

One day, feeling jealous about nice atmosphere flourished in the neighbouring family, wife told her husband:

– Go to the neighbours and look what they are doing for such well-being.

The husband came, hid and started watching. He saw a woman who was wiping the floor in the room. Suddenly something distracted her, and she ran to the kitchen. At that time her husband rushed into the room. He did not notice the bucket of water, occasionally kicked it, so the water overflowed.

Then his wife came back from the kitchen and said him:

– I’m sorry, honey, it’s my fault because I did not remove the bucket from the pass.

– No, I ‘m sorry, honey, it’s my fault, because I did not notice it.

The man returned home, where the wife asked him:

– Did you understand the reason of their well-being?

– I guess that I did. You see, we always seek to be right, while each of them takes the blame on himself.

Moral story about bullying...

One day Buddha was walking with his students through a village, where the opponents of Buddhism lived. The people of the village surrounded Buddha and his students and started insulting them. In respond, the students got angry and wanted to retort, but the presence of Buddha calmed them down. The words of Buddha confused not only the students but also the villagers.

He turned to his students and said:

– You disappointed me. These people are doing their thing. They are angry. They think that I am an enemy of their religion and their moral belief. These people are insulting me and it’s obvious. But why are you angry? Why did you let these people manipulate you? Now you depend on them, therefore you’re not free.

The people from the village were completely confused and asked:

– But we were insulting you, why aren’t you mad at us?

Buddha smiled:

– You are free people, and what you did – is your business. I am also a free person and a master of my own actions. That is why I have my own right not to react to manipulation and be free from anger.

One day a dull and exhausted by the illnesses and burdens...

One day a dull and exhausted by the illnesses and burdens of life peasant came to the wise man. He sat in front of the wise man, who gave him a heartfelt and warm smile. The peasant breathed out heavily letting out a wave of mourning. He began complaining about his life, that he has a hard burden that he doesn’t see a bright daylight at all, it’s like one problem falls on his head or the other – they have twisted him between the grindstones so much that he can’t even breathe in some fresh air. Later, he began blaming all of his relatives, who, in his opinion, were guilty for his misfortunes, whether the circumstances didn’t turn out right for him, or something else.

The wise man listened to him in silence, and when the peasant once again contritely inquired the wise man, why is it so unfair, what should he do and how to find peace, the wise man got up from his seat and invited the peasant to follow him.

They came out of the hut and went to a lakeside, which was not far away and where from time to time flying fishes were jumping, trotting fast above the surface, catching food.

The wise man led the peasant to the lakeside and said to him:

“Do you see the smoothness of the lake? The depths are full with life. There are fishes that always stay in water, and if suddenly the lake got polluted, they couldn’t see further their own nose, they would hardly recognise where the source of the pollution was, and they would keep swimming in circles. And there are also fishes that got wings and they can rise above the water of the lake, looking at it from the heights of their flight. So this is my advice: instead of complaining about your life, come to this lakeside from time to time, watch the flying fishes and try to understand what I wanted to say to you.”

The Snake was crawling on the ground...

The Snake was crawling on the ground. The Eagle flew to her and said:
– How unfortunate you are, doomed to crawl all your life. Not like me – I am destined to fly.
The Snake looked at the Eagle and said:
– You are right Eagle, I can’t fly. But only I know what it means to fly.
– How can you know that? – The Eagle smiled, – you don’t have wing!
– Thoughts are my wings, – said the Snake proudly, – Dreams are my heaven. While crawling on the ground I close my eyes and I see the heaven. I imagine that I’m crawling in heaven not on the ground. Yes, it’s impossible to crawl in heaven, you can only fly. It means that in those moments I am flying. In my free thoughts I am learning to fly, Eagle. With my soul I am arising to the high heaven, so when my time comes and my life as a snake comes to an end, I could ascend into the blue heaven, into the endless heaven and fly, to fly and not think about anything, enjoying my freedom. And I won’t be afraid to fly, because it won’t be a new thing for me. For you Eagle, the wings were given as you were born, but not for me. But the heaven will make us equal. We will be flying together one day, Eagle, under the clouds. Only I will be stronger and freer than you, because I have learned how to fly without having wings, simply crawling on the ground. Both things are available for me. I am not afraid to lose my wings because I know how to crawl, and I am not afraid to gain wings because I know how to fly. And what will you do, Eagle, if you lose your wings?

There was an old mule...

There was an old mule. One day accidentally he fell into the farmer’s well. The farmer has evaluated the situation and thought to himself, that neither the well nor the old mule was worth the efforts to save them. Thus he decided to haul dirt to bury the old mule in the well.

So the farmer called his neighbours and together they started to shovel dirt into the well. The old mule was terrified and hysterical in the beginning. But soon one hopeful idea came to his mind – every time when a shovel of dirt landed on his back, he would shake it off and step up!

He repeated these words to himself again and again: „Shake it off and step up“. This way he could struggle the panic and encourage himself. After some time, the mule had stepped over the well‘s wall. Although terribly tired, he was the winner, he saved his own life. He decided to face his adversity positively and not to give up, and thus he won.

What seemed to bury him, actually saved him, owing to his confidence and restless efforts.

I was waiting to pick up a friend at the airport...

I was waiting to pick up a friend at the airport. That day I had one of those experiences that change people‘s lives. It happened just two feet away from me. I noticed a man, carrying two bags, coming toward me. He stopped next to me to greet his family.

First of all he laid down his bag and came closer to his younger son (about six years old), they gave each other a warm, loving hug. Then the father looked in his son‘s eyes with words: „I missed you so much, it‘s so good to see you, son!“. The boy smiled and said: „Me too, dad“.

Then the man talked to his older son (nine or ten years old). „Oh, you are quite the young man, I love you very much!“ and cupped his face. Then they had the most tender hug too.

Afterwards the father said „Hi, baby girl“ to his baby daughter. She was squirming excitedly in her mother‘s arm and watching her returning father all the time. The man gently took his little daughter, quickly kissed her face all over and then held her close to his chest. The little girl laid her head on his shoulder in pure contentment.

After several moments the man looked at his wife and said „I‘ve saved the best for last“ and shared with her the most passionate kiss. They stared at each other, beaming big smiles. They reminded me of newlyweds.

Suddenly, I heard myself asking „Wow, how long have you been married?“. „Been together fourteen years, and married twelve of those“ . „Well then, have long have you been away?“. He replied with joyous smile on his face: „Two whole days!“.

I was stunned, as I imagined that he had been gone for several weeks at least. I could only say: „I hope that my marriage is still that passionate after twelve years“. The man looked straight into my eyes and told me something that changed my life:

„Don‘t hope, friend, decide!“…

inspirational stories about bullying

One man was publicly offending Omar Chajam:
– You’re an atheist! You’re drinker! Almost a thief!
Chajam just smiled in response.
One dandy dressed in the silk trousers watching that scene asked Chajam:
– How can you tolerate such offences? Don’t you feel hurt?
Omar Chajam smiled again and told:
– Let’s go with me.
Dandy followed him to the dusty lumber-room. Chajam lighted the kindling and began rummaging in the trunk, where found completely worthless tattered robe. He threw it to dandy and said:
– Try it, it will match you.
Dandy took a robe, looked at it and resented:
– What these dirty rags are for? I am well dressed, and you must be crazy! – and threw a robe back.
– You see, – Chajam said, – you did not want to try rags. Similarly, I did not want to try those dirty words that man threw me.
To be aggrieved by offences means to try on rags someone throw us.
